Does anyone have a information on Private F Hill 1st Herefordshire who died in Egypt on March 26th 1917. I have a photograph of him and am trying to find out where my grandfather William Jenkins of the 1st Herefordshire served during WW1. He returned safely from the war but never talked about it. I think the two men must have been friends and served together.

There's nothing for F Hill on 26th March 1917 but 236272 Pte Frederick Hill of the 1/1st Bn died, probably as a result of disease, on the 26th September 1917. He was born in All Saints, Hereford, and enlisted in Hereford. His original number was 3578 which suggests he enlisted in April/May 1915. The Bn war diary would tell you waht the Bn was up to. This is housed at the National Archives in Kew.
